Volunteer Services
The mission of Theological International University Volunteer Services is to cultivate civic responsibility as an essential part of a student’s development as a global citizen in our increasingly diverse society. Volunteer Services promotes and facilitates this development by providing opportunities to build community partnerships through a variety of service opportunities, including community service and outreach.
We seek to operationalize this mission by offering the following programs and initiatives:
Volunteer TIU, a day of service where students across campus can go to different non-profit organizations on campus and spend their time engaging in community service.
Blood Drives, which are held at least once a month are a great way to do great service and save a life. Students who participate in donating blood are eligible for 3 service hours and we’re always looking for students to volunteer their time working the blood drives. This is a great way to show your school spirit and help the American Red Cross! If your student organization is interested in hosting a blood drive, email Vanina Shelzter at social@tiuusa.org
Holiday Helper, held every November and December, gives TIU’s students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to help community members by donating gifts to designated community agencies like the Children’s Advocacy Centers. We were fortunate to grant over 100 children their wishes for gifts this past holiday season!
For more information on any of these programs or general questions, email Vanina Sheltzer at social@tiuusa.org.
